This blog is about the time I will spend working in the beautiful city of San Jose, Costa Rica. I will have the incredible opportunity to work at a microfinance enterprise called OikoCredit. Here I can share all my experiences living abroad and all that I will learn in the field of social entrepreneurship for the next six months.

Yupp, This is for real.
After much preparation yesterday I officially secured a ticket, housing, and confronted the reality of this trip. I will be leaving on Friday, January 13th from the Big Apple, making a pitstop in Miami and finally arriving in San Jose at 1:30 pm. After talking to several tenants, I will be living with an older woman, who seems super sweet and motherly. She works from home and has two sons. One is tweny-seven and the other one is eighteen. I am pretty excited to meet them because we are around the same age and hopefully they will help me get to know the city. A student also rents a room in the house, she is japanese, which is pretty cool too. Those who know my mother, would believe that she almost insisted I live with an older woman named Enriquetta that was going to watch over me like a hawk, so I am very thankful that other options were available (can't even imagine). Anyway, I am super pumped for this trip! Although, I will miss everyone very much, I do plan on keeping in touch. I have no idea what to expect and that is probably what is most exciting, wish me luck!
